How to connect your EmailOctopus Connect account with AWS

In this article, we'll guide you through all the steps required to connect your EmailOctopus Connect account with an AWS account.

Before you can begin the connection process, you'll need to set up an AWS account. You can do this on this page.

If you've already created your account, the next step is creating a user in AWS.

On the AWS end, you can use any user name you want. We'll use "EmailOctopus". Once you select your user name, click "Next".

On the next page, click "Attach policies directly" and search for "AmazonSESFullAccess". Tick the box next to that, and once it's done, you can move to the next page.

We don't need to make any changes on the "Review and create" page, so you can go ahead and click on the orange "Create user" button at the bottom of the page.

Once your new user is created, you'll see your "Users" page. Click on the user you've just created and open the "Security credentials" tab.

Scroll down the page to the "Access keys" section and click on the "Create access key" button.

On the next page, choose "Application running outside AWS" option and click "Next".

You don't need to add anything on the "Set description tag" page, so go ahead and click the "Create access key" button.

You'll see your "Access key" and "Secret access key", which need to be copied and pasted into your account's AWS connection page. Once you've pasted the access keys into the connection page of your EmailOctopus account, go back to your AWS tab and click "Done".

On the connection page of your EmailOctopus account, you'll need to choose your SES region as well. It doesn't need to be related to your current location, so we recommend "Europe (Ireland)". Once you click on the "Save" button, your AWS account is connected to your EmailOctopus account.
