How to send automated emails at a specific time

If you want to send out automated emails at a specific time or delay sending it till a certain day of the week, you can achieve this by adding a Wait step right before the Send email step in automation.

The default setting of the Wait step is set to wait for a specific period of time, but you can click on it to set it to one of four Wait until options.

You can choose between:

  • Wait until a certain day of the week - automation will resume when the current day matches the day or days of the week you selected.
  • Wait until a certain time of day - automation will be delayed until the time of the day you selected.
  • Wait until a certain date of the month - automation will resume when the current day matches the date of the month you selected.
  • Wait until a certain day of the month - you can select which certain day of the month your automation will resume on.

Some of the above options also include Optimised or Specific time options. If you select the Optimised option, the contacts will progress to the next steps automatically based on the time they signed up, matching the Wait until option you selected.

You can also select the Specific time option, so the automation will be delayed until that specific time.

For example, if you wanted your automation to run on weekdays only, you'd need to select the Wait until a certain day of the week option with the weekdays selected:
