Creating an automation based on a template

When setting up an automation, you can choose to create it from scratch or use one of our pre-built automation templates.

To preview an automation template, hover over the template option to highlight it, then click the preview icon in the upper-right corner. This will give you a quick view of the automation steps.

Here's an example of the automation template preview for the re-engagement sequence template:

You can click inside the preview to move the viewport around, and use the "+" and "-" buttons on the left side to zoom in and out. To choose the template for the base of your automation, click the "Select automation" button in the upper right corner of the preview window.

You'll be directed to a page where you can set your automation name and settings.

Click "Next" when you're ready to go to the automation editor.

All the automation steps will be connected in a way that is guaranteed to work as explained in the template description, but you'll have to edit the steps that are custom to your scenario.

In this example, you'd have to choose which tag should work with the trigger and create the automated email sent to inactive contacts.
