Invalid syntax error

If you add a merge tag and then change the text in the merge tag to something we don't support, you will get an invalid syntax error.  Make sure all your merge tags display as shown on our list of supported merge tags here.

If you copied HTML from an outside source, change the tag to an EmailOctopus merge tag our editor recognises.

All emails must include the {{SenderInfo}} or {{SenderInfoLine}} merge tag.

You don't want to replace the text "SenderInfo" with anything else between the braces. The {{SenderInfo}} tag (and {{SenderInfoLine}} tag) will automatically place your physical address in your email template.  

To edit your physical address, head to the sender info screen in your account.

You also need to include the {{UnsubscribeURL}} merge tag hyperlinked to a piece of text (for instance, "Unsubscribe"). It can't be hyperlinked to an image to avoid compliance issues.
