Delete or unsubscribe a contact

You can change the contact's status from subscribed to unsubscribed or permanently delete that contact – depending on what you're trying to achieve.

To do it, head to the Contacts tab. Below the menu, you can find a search field - click the magnifying glass to search for the email address or find it in the contact list and click on the contact email address.

If you need to delete an individual contact, you can do that by clicking the Delete button on the contact screen. Keep in mind that contact deletion is permanent and includes any contact activity, such as opened and clicked.

In general, we don't recommend deleting contacts but instead, changing their status to Unsubscribed. This way, you can't accidentally re-subscribe your contacts later. Unsubscribed contacts are maintained in your list but no longer count towards the subscriber limit of your plan.

To unsubscribe your contact, on the contact page, click Edit and select Unsubscribed from the Status dropdown. Then click the Save button to confirm the status change.


All contacts are stored at a list level, as opposed to a global account level. So if you have multiple lists, you must repeat this process for each list you wish to unsubscribe or delete the contact from. Since this makes contact management much harder, we recommend keeping all your contacts on one list.
