How to use hidden fields and tags to track subscription source
You can use hidden fields to track your forms and landing pages' performance and subscription source. These fields will be automatically assigned to all contacts who sign up to your list using your form or a landing page.
First, you have to add a new field that you'll use for tracking. In our example, we'll call it "Source".
You can now add it to your forms and landing pages following these instructions:
Forms
1. Add the tracking field to your form
2. Mark it as "Hidden" and assign it a custom value
3. Save your form. All new contacts coming from that form will have this value assigned to them automatically.
Landing pages
1. Add the tracking field to your landing page
2. Mark it as "Hidden" and assign it a custom value
3. Update your landing page. All new contacts coming from that landing page will have this value assigned to them automatically.
Adding tags
You can also add tags to assign them automatically to the contacts that subscribe through the form or landing page. To do that, click on Add new tag and select the appropriate tags from the dropdown menu.
If you don't have any tags yet, you will first need to create the tags within the list that the form is connected to.
